Glass, Bouquet, Guitar and Bottle (1919)

Picture
Pablo Picasso, Spanish,1881-1973
Oil on canvas, Nationalgalerie, Museum Bergruen du Berlin

Pablo Picasso was one of the most influential figures in twentieth-century art.  He was  a prolific artist, even until his death at ninety-two, creating close to 30,000 works on paper and canvas, in stone, ceramics and metal, every type of mixed media, theatre sets,  costumes and commercial posters and advertisements.  Although he is most famous for being a co-founder of the Cubist movement, his early realistic works demonstrated great technical skill.
